Apple Pie, a classic. Isn’t it kind of ironic how in Tuesdays post I was chatting to you guys about how to stay healthy and fit while travelling and now here we are baking apple pie. Balance is what they call this I believe.
I visited an apple orchid with my host family a while back and together we brought back two huge bags of apple! Most of them were turned into apple sauce or the daily apple and peanut butter snack but even that wasn’t enough to finish all the apples in time before them going bad. Now what better way is there then to use up apples of not for a good hearty apple pie? That is exactly what we did.
Apple pies are very easy to prepare as they are basically made up of two components: the dough and the filling. For the dough you mix together flour, water, baking soda, salt and some butter, set that aside and prepare the filling. The filling takes a little more preparation but even this is totally doable.
