I recently came back from an incredible trip to New Zealand. My family and I drove with a camper-van from Christchurch to Auckland.
I must say New Zealand really has everything to offer from a diverse change in landscape to tiny towns to huge cities. We drove up from Christchurch towards Picton, where we would later on get on the Interislander ferry, stopping here and there hiking up to waterfalls, alongside lake and rivers and bathing in some hot springs (in blooming winter – it was dope). I also got to see snow for the first time in almost eight years! I felt like a little child throwing snowballs and my brother and building a snowman! Defiantly one of the cooler days.
From Picton we took the ferry leaving the South Island and embarking the North Island. We were at best of luck when it comes to wether as we had zero waves and an almost blue sky! We even got to see some Dolphins hunting and Seals playing in the turquoise water!
Unfortunately it rained most of the time while driving up to Auckland. The rain and low temperatures resulted in some epic family game days and nights. Nevertheless we got to see Mount Taranaki and walk along the beach to see the three sisters as well as dig for some hot springs in Kawhia.
Although we had a lot of rainy days it was an amazing trip that will be remembered for a long time!
